Using Mockup Photos for Your Online Shop

Mockup photos are the perfect way to showcase your products without having to go through the trouble of staging a full-fledged photoshoot. They’re easy to use, cute, and often free. Sign me up for that!

Freepik is my favorite site to use for finding mockups. They offer so many different images to choose from, and you can filter your search by image category as well as free options only. I always check off PSD for the image category which means the file will be compatible with Adobe Photoshop. You can search for images like “8x10 frames” or “greeting card with kraft envelope” and typically are presented with multiple options to choose from.

Once you find an image that looks like it would work well with your product, you are able to download it and then open the file in Photoshop. Each file may look a little different, but you will be able to access the layers and should see a layer titled, “Your design goes here.” You upload your image into the proper layer and end up with the perfect mockup!

If you are unable to find your ideal mockup on Freepik, Etsy tends to have great options as well.
